Homemade Badusha Recipe | Balushahi Recipe

Badusha is a famous North indian sweet. It appearence is like doughnuts. But vary in taste and texture. Do follow the recipe exactly without any changes to get a delicious taste.

I have shared a badusha sweet recipe in a step by step method with a detailed pictures below.

Let’s measure all the ingredients before we start to prepare.

In a bowl add all purpose flour , baking powder.

Add sugar.

Mix well. Now add clarified butter/ ghee.

Combine the flour very well until you can hold a shape with the flour.

Now add yogurt and 1/4 cup water. Combine the flour.

Do not knead the soft and firm dough. Do not knead the dough heavily just combine all the ingrediients to knead the dough cover the dough with muslin cloth. Let it rest for 15 minutes.

Meanwhile in a pan add sugar and water to make a sugar syrup.

Add saffron strands and cardamom , boil fot 5 minutes on a medium flame.

Knead the dough gently and divide the dough into small portions roll like a ball and press in the centre.

Heat oil in a kadai drop them and fry till golden brown. Let it simmer and cook for another 5 minutes to cook inside.

Fry till golden brown place them in absorbent paper to drain excess oil.

When the sugar syrup is still warm drop badushah soak for 15 minutes.

Sprinkle with chopped cashews and serve. In case sugar syrup crystallized add 1 or 2 tablespoon of water warm or heat the sugar syrup again. It is best serve hot. You can stored in an airtight container at room temperature. Consumed with in a day or two.
