Quick Carrot Halwa Recipe

Carrot halwa is a sweet pudding made with grated carrots. A rich version of carrot halwa is prepared from khoya that I have already shared in blog. A quick version of carrot halwa is made with condensed milk along with the flavor of ghee and cardamom.

I have shared a quick Carrot Halwa Recipe in step by step method with a detailed pictures below.

Wash peel and grate the carrots, add the carrots to a thick bottom vessel or non stick pan. Cover and cook the carrots on a medium heat. Stir in frequent intervals. For me it took 5-7 minutes to soften the carrots. Now add condensed milk. Stir well.

Add sugar and stir well. Sugar will release a lot of moisture. Cook until the halwa thickens.

In another pan heat clarified butter add cardamom, cinnamon stick add chopped nuts saute till the nuts are golden brown.

Add them to the halwa remove from the heat. Serve chilled or warm.It is best with a scoop of icecream.

INGREDIENTS

  • 5-6 fresh carrots
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup condendsed milk
  • 2 cardamom or 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
