Gulgule is a lightly sweetened snack made from semolina or wheat flour or all purpose flour. Gulgule is a delicious snack. These dumplings are made by deep frying a batter. It turns crispy and tasty, best served at room temperature.

I have shared gulgule recipe in step by step method with a detailed pictures below.

In a mixing bowl add semolina/ rava/ sooji.

Add khus khus and pour milk mix well. Keep aside. Soak semolina with milk and khus khus for atleast 2 hours.

Once the semolina is soaked and the batter turns very thick now add sugar.

Add coconut paste or desiccated coconut to the batter. Mix the batter very well with the help of fork or whisk.

Drop spoonfuls of the mixture into hot oil in a kadai or deep non-stick pan flip gulgule tottue other side fry on a medium flame, till they turn golden brown in colour from all the sides.

Drain on the absorbent paper.

Gulgule are best served at room temperature.

INGREDIENTS

  •  500 gram Semolina/ rava/ sooji
  • 400 gram sugar
  • 2 tablespoon khus khus
  • 2- 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 3/4 cup desiccated coconut or coconut paste
  • Oil for frying

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Add khus khus and pour milk mix well. Keep aside. Soak semolina with milk and khus khus for atleast 2 hours.
  • Once the semolina is soaked and the batter turns very thick, now add sugar.
  • Add coconut paste or desiccated coconut to the batter. Mix the batter very well with the help of fork or whisk.
