Chili Paneer Recipe

Chili Paneer is a popular Indo Chinese Starter is an alternative appetizer for vegan. I have made chili paneer as a semi dry dish for phulka. But, you can reduce the onions and skip tomato to make a dry dish. Chili Paneer is a good combination with Hakka noodles and veg.fried rice.

I have shared chili paneer recipe in a step by step method with a detailed pictures below.

In a mixing bowl add ginger garlic paste, corn flour, egg white, pepper powder, red chili powder and salt.Whisk well to make a thick batter.

Cut paneer into dices add them to the above batter. mix well.

Add soya sauce mix well.

Marinate for 10 minutes. Meanwhile heat oil in a wok add crushed garlic cloves stir well.

Add sliced onions saute till the onions changes transparent.

Add red chili flakes, tomato sauce, salt, sugar, green chilies, diced tomatoes and pepper powder and soya sauce.

Heat oil in a kadai drop the paneer and fry them till golden brown.

place the paneer in an absorbent paper to drain excess oil. Add the paneer to the onion mixture. Add green capsicum and chopped fresh coriander leaves.

Serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 sliced onions
  • 1 diced tomato
  • 2 green chilies
  • 1/2 green capsicum
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • 3-4 crushed or chopped garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon pepper powder
  • 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon soya sauce
  • 1 teaspoon red chili flakes

For marination

  • 100 gram cottage cheese
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tablespoon cornflour
  • 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • salt as needed
  • 1 teaspoon soya sauce

INSTRUCTION

For marination

  • In a mixing bowl add all the above ingredients whisk well like a batter.
  • Cut the paneer in the shape of cube or rectangle add them to the batter. Marinate for 10 minutes.
  • Add soya sauce mix well. marinate for 10 minutes. Meanwhile heat oil in a wok add crushed garlic cloves stir well.
